Expert Medical Opinion Service
The right diagnosis can help alleviate anxiety and heartache. It also can help save money, time — and, ultimately, a life. We are pleased to provide a company-paid service to connect you with leading doctors for their expert opinion on your health status — without leaving the comforts of home. Our Expert Medical Opinion program, administered by 2nd.MD, offers access to leading doctors who will review your individual medical situation and provide the best answers to your biggest questions — free of charge — to help deliver the correct diagnosis and recommend the optimal course of treatment.
Second opinion services for cancer diagnoses are a component of our IMPACT Cancer Care Program; this program provides similar services to our colleagues for a broader range of other health situations, such as surgical advice.
Colleagues and dependents enrolled in a Thermo Fisher medical plan are eligible to participate.
IMPACT Program
The IMPACT program is a free, voluntary program that provides resources to colleagues, their spouse/domestic partner and children with a current/past cancer diagnosis or family history of cancer. Participants must be enrolled in a Thermo Fisher medical plan. Program benefits include:
- IMPACT Navigators to provide guidance and information
- Independent medical opinions from leading experts
- Education about your risk, based on family history
- Information on genetic testing for cancer
Prediabetes & Diabetes Management
Omada is a digital health coaching program for the whole family that helps individuals lose weight and get healthier. If you are enrolled in a Thermo Fisher national medical plan and meet certain health criteria, you can access one-on-one support with a professional health coach, a free wireless scale to conveniently track progress, weekly online sessions and more to help combat prediabetes. For those with diabetes, Livongo helps colleagues and covered family members who are enrolled in the Thermo Fisher national medical plan manage their condition and save money. If eligible, take advantage of a free, connected blood glucose meter, free testing strips and lancets, real-time support, personalized tips and more.
