We want to ensure colleagues have access to quality healthcare coverage at an affordable cost. There are three “tiers” of colleague medical contributions based on career band (labeled as Management Level in Workday):
- Tier 1 – Career Band 1-4
- Tier 2 – Career Band 5-8
- Tier 3 – Career Band 9+
Colleagues in tier 1 will have the highest employer subsidy (i.e., lowest paycheck contribution). Colleague contributions are slightly higher for the second tier and highest for the third tier.
Your cost for medical coverage is based on your career band, plan and coverage level you select. Your dental and vision cost is determined by the plan and coverage level you choose. View full-time colleague contributions for 2024 here. You’ll be able to see your personalized rates when you enroll on MyBenefits.
The cost of medical, dental and vision coverage is paid with pre-tax dollars.* Pre-tax contributions are deducted from your pay before federal income taxes, Social Security taxes and, in most cases, state and local income taxes are withheld from your pay. This means that your taxable income is reduced by these amounts. Your contributions are deducted from each paycheck throughout the year.
*Coverage in Puerto Rico is paid with after-tax dollars due to regulations.

Working Spouse Surcharge for Medical Plans
If you choose to cover your spouse/domestic partner and they have access to subsidized medical coverage through their employer, you will pay a $100/month surcharge. This Working Spouse Surcharge helps keep our medical plans affordable for all colleagues. When you enroll, you’ll be prompted to certify whether your spouse/domestic partner has access to coverage through their employer.
If you pay the surcharge, it will appear as a separate line item on your paycheck and will be deducted before taxes are calculated. For colleagues in Puerto Rico this is deducted post-tax due to local regulations.
