Expert Medical Opinion Service

Connect with leading doctors through 2nd.MD for their expert opinion on your health status — all at your convenience. Consider this company-paid service when you want a virtual consultation or second opinion on your diagnosis or treatment plan. Speak with a nationally-recognized specialist by video or phone to ensure you’re getting the best care possible.  

Second opinion services for cancer diagnoses are a component of our IMPACT Cancer Care Program; this program provides similar services to our colleagues for a broader range of other health situations, such as surgical advice.

Colleagues and dependents enrolled in a Thermo Fisher medical plan are eligible to participate.

IMPACT Program

The IMPACT Cancer Care Program provides company-paid personalized support and resources for colleagues and dependents facing a cancer diagnosis or with a family history of cancer. Services include access to IMPACT Navigators, who serve as a single point of contact to answer questions and provide general guidance, education about cancer risks and when to consider genetic testing, expert medical second opinions and more. 

Prediabetes & Diabetes Management

Find successful ways to manage your weight and address chronic conditions such as prediabetes with Omada. If you are enrolled in a Thermo Fisher national medical plan and meet certain health criteria, you can work with a professional health coach and use tools to track and monitor your progress. 

For those with diabetes, Livongo helps colleagues and covered family members who are enrolled in the Thermo Fisher national medical plan manage their condition and save money. If eligible, take advantage of a free, connected blood glucose meter, free testing strips and lancets, real time support, personalized tips and more.

Physical Therapy (Digital)

Get access to Hinge Health, a digital exercise therapy program that provides personalized care plans to help support back and joint health. Hinge Health offers virtual physical therapy with a physical therapist via a video visit.

Hinge Health gives you the tools you need to conquer back and joint pain, recover from injuries, prepare for surgery, and stay healthy and pain free. Their programs are available to you and your eligible dependents at no cost. Plus, you can complete your customized care plan anywhere, any time. Available to UHC national plan members (ages 18 and older) at no cost.
